Murray & Associates and The National Center for College Costs provides an array of programs and services that help students and parents prepare for the postsecondary process. Typically provided on a school or community basis and predominantly grant funded, the programs range from early intervention activities that break down the barriers students face when it comes to thinking about college, to workshops that show students how to actually move through the college admission, application and transition processes successfully. The activities are designed to complement the work traditionally done by guidance counselors and other stakeholders working with students in the education pipeline.
The goals of Murray & Associates’ unique approach are to:
- Reach large volumes of students and parents on certain key college preparatory issues that otherwise might prevent students from attending and/or successfully transitioning to postsecondary pursuits;
- Raise the expectations and readiness of students, parents and other support structures so that a culture of college for all can replace a culture where college is reserved for the financially and/or academically privileged few.
Working closely with school and community resources, we provide services on an extensive basis to entire communities of students and couple that with more intensive support available via a toll-free line and email to those who need it and are motivated to take advantage of it. This approach allows us to provide expert advice to large audiences of students and parents on critical issues in time and cost-effective ways.
