Barbara brings over twenty years of college counseling experience to the National Center for College Costs.
Barb joined the National Center for College Costs in 2001 after wrapping up her work at Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a high school that routinely sends over 90% of its graduates on to postsecondary education. Among her many experiences, she has been involved in the Schwab Foundation's Pursuits program since its inception, a program that helps K-12 students make informed educational and career decisions.
Barb plays an active role in the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), an association of high school college counselors and college admission officers. A product of multiple NACAC Leadership Institutes, she has served as Parliamentarian of NACAC, as well as President of the Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling. She has lobbied numerous times on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. for increased appropriations for financial aid and postsecondary education. She recently received the IACAC Dorothy Cheesman Distinguished Service Award, as well as the Margaret E. Addis Service to NACAC Award.
